Job Summary:
The County of Atlantic seeks a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Nurses to oversee the operations of patient-care units and direct the activities of professional and nonprofessional personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the completion of Medicare assessments (MDS) and ensuring timely submission to CMS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operations of patient-care units and direct the activities of professional and nonprofessional personnel.
- Coordinate the completion of Medicare assessments (MDS) and ensure timely submission to CMS.
- Prepare and update nursing documentation and 7-day lookback lists for nurses.
- Complete readmission and return assessments, and discharge reporting.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating the implementation of established policies within the units.
- Assign, evaluate, and participate in the development of proper and effective work methods.
- Participate in the planning for provision of physical facilities and recommend staffing needs.
- Participate in developing a program of orientation and in-service training for personnel.
- Prepare and supervise the preparation of requisitions for medication, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements:
- Three (3) years of experience as a registered professional nurse, one (1) year of which shall have included the supervision of direct care nursing staff.
- Current, valid registration as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and methods of professional nursing and hospital organization.
- Knowledge of organizing assigned nursing and supervisory work and developing effective work methods.
- Ability to interpret and apply unit policies.
- Ability to analyze, comprehend, and interpret professional nursing problems.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
