Job SummaryThe Respiratory Care Specialist coordinates and delivers high-quality respiratory care in accordance with departmental requirements and state and specialty standards. This vital member of the patient care team performs diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitors patients receiving mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patient respiratory needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Operate acute care ventilators for short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
- Maintain accurate department and hospital records, including therapy information.
- Perform procedures with empathy and care for patients' well-being.
- Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure.
- American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider certification, with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within six months of hire.
- Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment.
