Job Description:The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
We are seeking an ambitious Registered Respiratory Therapist to evaluate the respiratory needs of our patients, develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan for our patients, and work as part of a dynamic team that supports each other.
- You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
- You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
- You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.
The ideal candidate will have current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure, American Heart Association BLS health care provider required, ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire, and experience working in a stressful environment and taking appropriate actions in volatile situations.
Responsibilities:- You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- You will assist with placement of artificial airways, initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation, and monitor patient for therapeutic response.
