Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will provide advanced legal support to our business units and projects, ensuring that transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with our mission, authority, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal support to assigned business units and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and apply this knowledge to support organizational needs.
  • Articulate complex legal concepts and internal policies and procedures to others, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Organize and track data, solve systems issues, and explain system needs to others, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work closely with teams focused on supporting our philanthropy and fundraising activities, including issues related to private foundations, planned giving, and fundraising compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of combined legal and administrative experience, or equivalent qualifications acquired through coursework and/or related job experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and track multiple items simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical experience with accounting and finance, with the ability to apply this knowledge to support organizational needs.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, with an emphasis on contract and grant agreements.
  • Experience with administrative support on activities, such as invoice review and processing, meeting support, and minutes taking.
  • Experience conducting legal and factual research on the Internet and in other legal resources.
  • Experience with MS Office, Word, Excel, and SharePoint, and any other relevant technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant legal experience working on nonprofit legal issues, including state charitable registration compliance filings and planned giving matters.
  • Experience with accounting/financial/tax issues and analysis.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience.
