Clinical Pharmacy Resident Opportunity

Cleveland Clinic's Fairview Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Pharmacy Resident to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacy Resident, you will participate in education and service in general clinical pharmacy or in a specialty area. You will interact with physicians and nurses to make recommendations regarding drug therapy of patients under the tutelage of a clinical pharmacy preceptor. This position does not have direct patient care activities or pharmacist responsibilities unless appropriately licensed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care of patients in the area of service responsibility.
  • Provide and document pharmacotherapeutic recommendations that positively affect patient outcome.
  • Learn how to demonstrate a service orientation toward patients, caregivers, and visitors.
  • Provide general and patient-specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in and support Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities.

Requirements:

  • Completing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of being hired.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations.
