This position involves managing projects from initial bidding through to completion, including responsibilities for billing, invoicing, and collaboration with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the contractual scope of work and the implications of client-issued directives and scheduling modifications.
  • Ensure that engineering and commissioning tasks performed by the field team adhere to established standards.
  • Analyze construction budget reports and project timelines to proactively identify potential issues.
  • Foster and maintain strong, long-term relationships with consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct cost estimations, prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement prices with clients.
  • Oversee the selection, ordering, and timely delivery of materials required for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance of project documentation with contract requirements and Sodexo standards.
  • Supervise project construction to ensure adherence to specifications, local regulations, and installation techniques.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and financial status to management as necessary.
  • Develop cost estimates and scope documents for subcontractors and solicit bids.
  • Act as the primary onsite leader for execution teams on assigned projects.
  • Create project schedules and ensure execution aligns with established plans.
  • Communicate realistic expectations to both the project team and clients.
  • Manage risks and formulate recovery plans as needed.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, acting within their framework.
  • Hold oneself and others accountable for achieving key project metrics.
  • Ensure subcontractors are well-informed of project expectations.
  • Proactively seek additional work through change orders.
  • Lead job progress meetings as required.
  • Resolve disputes with minimal escalation.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • General Contractor licensure or similar credentials are advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in construction within food service and educational settings is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.
  • Experience in managing new construction, renovations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to coordinate contractors, stakeholders, and project teams effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of project scheduling and documentation processes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems is a plus.
  • The ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, PlanGrid, and Smartsheet.
  • Capability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
