Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer will oversee the management of small projects or components of larger projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to company processes and tools.

This role will involve applying JE Dunn's project management principles and best practices to manage project aspects, including administration, field execution, and quality control.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project safety and quality plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Coordinate with project QA/QC planning to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Participate in estimating and change management processes, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals.
  • Make decisions on subcontractor and vendor selection, ensuring timely delivery and quality of materials.
  • Coordinate project meetings, including pre-planning and post-construction meetings, monthly project reviews, and progress meetings.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor pay applications, ensuring accurate payment and compliance with company policies.
  • Lead the project close-out process, including creation and management of punch lists, tracking and controlling quality and costs, and scheduling inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of construction experience, with a focus on project management and operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software, including CMiC and other company technologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean processes and philosophy, with the ability to implement best practices in project management.

Working Environment

The Senior Project Engineer will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent travel and potential relocation. The successful candidate must be willing to work non-traditional hours and be exposed to extreme conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
