Job SummaryThe MRI Technologist is a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging team, responsible for performing high-quality MRI examinations and providing exceptional patient care. This is a journey-level position, requiring a minimum of two years of experience in a clinic or acute care hospital facility. Certification in MRI through the ARRT is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with department policy and procedure manual
- Correlate patient clinical history with the Radiology exam to be performed
- Use universal precautions when working with patients in isolation status and in sterile surgery
- Assist with department clerical functions
- Attend and participate in department meetings
- Keep current with changes in policy and procedure
- Either formal training with an accredited MRI program or at least 2 years experience training in an ACR accredited facility
- Formal Training in an accredited Radiological program with an Associates degree in Radiology
- High school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. program
- Minimum of two years full-time experience as a paid Radiological Technologist in an acute care hospital facility
- Technical ability to perform all MRI examinations
- Ability to interact with general public, clients, staff, and referring physicians with diplomacy, tact, and goodwill
- Able to communicate effectively with patients who are under stress
