Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in the care of patients in a clinic setting, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with patients to gather information and accurately document their medical history, chief complaint, and present illness.
- Perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry, to assist physicians in making informed decisions.
- Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on the administration of medications, pre and post-operative instructions, and ocular medications.
- Utilize effective problem-solving skills to de-escalate dissatisfied patients and maintain a positive patient experience.
- Stay current with the latest technologies and medications, and be able to answer general patient questions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
