Job Summary

SWBC is seeking a skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to support the PEO Tax Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Tax Manager at the Bulverde, Texas location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate state and local tax payments, filings, and research.
  • Correspond with tax authorities regarding tax issues and resolution of questions on returns filed.
  • Assist with quarterly client billing reconciliations and tax adjustments.
  • Support the Payroll department with various tax-related tasks.
  • Register new tax accounts and follow state procedures for gaining access to tax accounts and researching associated tax requirements.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure successful transition of tax accounts during onboarding and offboarding.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • At least 3 years of Accounting/Payroll tax experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience in out-of-state payments and filings for withholding and unemployment tax.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
