Staff Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Brentwood Hospital in Shreveport, LA. As a Per Diem Staff Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities- Filling orders with precision and attention to detail
- Verifying technician-prepared products before release
- Maintaining the security of the pharmacy and controlled substances
- Entering orders and patient information with accuracy
- Aiding in the training of new staff members
- Providing updates to the Director on daily pharmacy activities
- Supporting the Director in maintaining the pharmacy
This Per Diem position will require working one weekend per month, as well as covering staff PTO and sick days. You will be expected to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.
About the FacilityBrentwood Hospital is a 200-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility that offers services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. We strive to revitalize lives through compassion and innovative care.
About the PharmacyOur pharmacy utilizes centralized systems, including HCS, ePharmacy, and Omnicell automatic dispensing systems. The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and weekends from 8am-2pm.
Required Qualifications- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
- Current Pharmacist license in good standing in Louisiana
- Recent experience in a hospital setting preferred, but not required
- Omnicell experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
- Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Please note that the following requirements may be necessary:
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- HepB3 Series (or declination)
- (Flu) Influenza - required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
- COVID Vaccine
