Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Observation Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to patients with respiratory, dialysis, renal, and high observation needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis.
  • Administer medications as ordered for specific groups of patients and demonstrate knowledge of their modes of action, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Initiate, regulate, and manage IV therapy for assigned patients.
  • Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider the complexity of nursing care required by each patient.
  • Evaluate patient environment for safety and communicate identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient education and keep patients informed of treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association required (BLS).
  • Comply with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs.
  • Current acute clinical care experience preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada.
  • Independently maintain license.
  • Acquire required contact hours to maintain practice.
