Position Overview: The Mortgage Originator is accountable for delivering exceptional mortgage loan services to clients while executing a variety of tasks to support the loan servicing operations, ensuring the effective and precise management of mortgage loan accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts client interviews to gather applications, disclosures, and necessary supporting documentation; inputs application data into the Loan Origination System software.
- Evaluates credit and financial information to provide initial recommendations for loan approval or denial.
- Engages in outreach programs with local real estate agents and other referral sources.
- Participates in seminars, workshops, and branch meetings to share insights on mortgage production.
- Maintains awareness of competitor offerings and their respective programs.
- Collaboratively sets measurable client service goals with the assigned supervisor on an annual basis.
- Ensures timely follow-up on loan approvals or denials.
- Keeps accurate records and submits periodic reports as required.
- Assists clients and branch staff with specific inquiries or service-related issues.
- Coordinates tasks with other department personnel to ensure smooth information flow.
- Provides timely client service information for inclusion in sales performance reports.
- Adheres to General Performance Expectations as outlined for all employees.
- Complies with NMLS standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Specialized training in lending and real estate credit servicing is essential.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a related role is typically required.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
Compensation: Salary range is $20.33 to $31.03 hourly. Compensation offers consider a variety of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable licenses or certifications.
