Job Summary

Long Island Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality, professional, cost-effective healthcare to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to in- and outpatients in various settings, including the Emergency Department, Pre-Admission Testing, and the operating room.
  • Document patient care in the chart, including emergency medical care, test results, and follow-up consultations.
  • Assist in surgery and perform CAT scan/MRI injections.
  • Participate in performance assessment and improvement studies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
  • Ability to recognize and address the psychosocial needs of patients and their families.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately seventy-five percent of work time.
  • Ability to walk and stand for approximately seventy-five percent of work time, and to lift, pull, push, and/or carry items such as equipment weighing up to twenty pounds or patients on stretchers for approximately twenty-five percent of work time.
