Direct Care Professional

Indian Rivers Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Staff to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and empathetic individual to provide direct care and support to our clients with mental illness and developmental disabilities. As a Direct Care Staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our clients, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide transportation for clients to appointments, errands, and outings.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulation.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct client trainings and provide educational support.
- Prepare and serve meals according to client diets and preferences.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless care and support.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Current Alabama driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and negotiate multiple flights of stairs.
As a Direct Care Staff, you will work in a residential facility, interacting with clients, staff, and the public. You must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and maintain confidentiality. A valid Alabama driver's license is required.
