Job Summary

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality patient care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Department. This role requires a strong foundation in pediatric nursing and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage pediatric patients with consultation, collaboration, and general supervision under a collaborative practice agreement with the Pediatric Hospitalist and/or Intensivist, Pediatrician, and Emergency Room Physician.
  • Exercise independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of certain delegated medical processes, procedures, and protocols depending on level of expertise.
  • Support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year experience in pediatrics required; 2 years' experience preferred.
  • Current LA APRN license.
  • Current PALS and BLS certifications upon hire.
  • PALS Instructor Certification and NRP obtained within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Acute care pediatric experience preferred.
Physical Demands

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner must possess good physical health and be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required, and the ability to work with a moderate level of noise is necessary.
