About the Role

The WAMS Senior Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for cyber security engineering support to the PMW/A 170 WAMS program. Key duties include:

  • Providing expert input and recommendations on security issues at technical reviews for WAMS.
  • Managing requirements and test activities to obtain National Security Agency (NSA) approval of End Cryptographic Units (ECUs).
  • Developing and coordinating the Key and Certificate Management Plan (KCMP), Security Evaluation Document (SED), Security Verification Plans and Procedures (SVPP) documents, and obtaining NSA approval.
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders, such as PMW 130 or DISA, for Transmission Security (TRANSEC) issues impacting the WAMS Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) capability.
  • Leading the WAMS ECU IPT to execute working level engineering issues and action items.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Excellent writing and verbal skills, including email etiquette.
  • A proactive self-starter mentality, with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Skills and Qualifications

You should have knowledge of:

  • Navy SATCOM security architectures.
  • TRANSEC requirements.
  • NSA certification/approval processes.
Desired Experience

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 10 years of SATCOM systems/cybersecurity engineering experience, including:

  • Experience developing Navy SATCOM cybersecurity architectures.
  • Experience developing key management, key generation, and key sharing architectures in coordination with NSA and associated security policies.
  • Experience with KMI.
Education and Clearance

You should have a BS in Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, or Computer Science, and a current/active Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
