Position Overview

The Geriatric Care Nurse plays a crucial role in evaluating the health conditions of residents, identifying their educational and environmental requirements, and effectively communicating any notable changes to the interdisciplinary team. This position involves creating adaptive care plans tailored to the specific needs of each resident. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking abilities, exceptional communication skills, and proficient time management and organizational capabilities. Experience in long-term care is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure
  • Valid RN license in the state of employment
  • CPR/AED certification is mandatory or must be obtained within six months
  • Preferred experience in long-term care settings
  • Strong critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, transfer and assist patients, maneuver equipment, and complete necessary documentation
  • Visual acuity with the ability to differentiate colors
