Job Summary

Gypsum Systems is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for commercial wall work, ceiling work, and plastering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to the Estimating team, including breakdowns and other support items.
  • Download and save all bid documents.
  • Learn our scope of work and familiarize yourself with specifications.
  • Send pricing requests to vendors.
  • Attend monthly estimator meetings.
  • Perform job breakdowns and attend site visits with project managers.
  • Familiarize yourself with productions and take off procedures.
  • Complete job takeoffs and pricing.
  • Attend trade organization seminars.
Requirements
  • 2 to 3 years' experience in the construction field, with metal studs and drywall construction experience a plus.
  • College education in construction management preferred, but not required.
  • Exposure or experience with blueprints.
  • Experience in specialty sub-contractor level estimating a plus.
  • Demonstration of strong leadership, commercial construction knowledge, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized, engaged, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to meet the location requirements of training and worksites.
