The
Port of Huntsville is seeking qualified candidates for the role of
Facilities Operations Manager. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all maintenance activities related to the authority's facilities.

The role encompasses managing maintenance and basic custodial services for all authority properties, which include buildings, equipment, systems, vehicles, heavy machinery, landscaping, airfield, and associated facilities.

The Facilities Operations Manager will initiate daily tasks, ensure follow-through on various matters, and utilize independent judgment and expertise to effectively address both routine and unique emergencies.

Key responsibilities include reviewing construction, renovation, and repair proposals, providing constructive feedback to benefit the authority.

This position also involves planning, coordinating, and managing the Airport's building management systems, which encompass computerized HVAC systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, security systems, baggage handling systems, and the Building Automation System (BAS).


Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in business, Aviation Management, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline, along with eight years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management and a minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity.

Electrical/Mechanical licensure is preferred.
