Position Overview
The Lender plays a crucial role in facilitating and managing loan activities related to consumer, agricultural, commercial, or real estate financing. This position supports management in formulating recommendations for overall lending objectives, policies, and procedures. The Lender provides guidance to colleagues involved in loan processing to ensure that all loans are executed correctly and that robust controls are in place. Each interaction is viewed as a chance to foster new business opportunities by informing clients about beneficial products and services. Additionally, ongoing customer referrals are an essential aspect of the sales strategy, promoting relationship banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Process various loan applications utilizing available programs to enhance or secure loan approvals (e.g., FHA, SBA).
- Gather and evaluate information concerning the client's income, assets, investments, or liabilities to identify the most suitable financial product.
- Provide financial advice to clients regarding their financial status.
- Reduce overdue loans by ensuring safety and soundness through focused attention on past due and potentially problematic credits.
- Engage with potential clients to generate new business through a proactive outreach program.
- Meet with existing clients to assess collateral and nurture long-term relationships.
- Attract new clients and represent the bank in community initiatives.
- Promote bank products and services while making referrals to other bank staff.
- Assist management in researching, developing, and implementing new products or special projects.
- May be required to travel to different branch locations to support loan officer responsibilities as necessary.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of financial and economic industry trends.
- Actively support the organization's vision, mission, and values, demonstrating mutual respect, integrity, and accountability.
- Exhibit knowledge of and adherence to EEO policies, fostering a respectful and harassment-free work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations.

- A bachelor's degree or relevant work experience is required.
