Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Agricultural and Commercial Loan Officer to join our team at Iowa State Bank Inc. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for making and servicing loan activity for consumer, agricultural, commercial, or real estate loans. You will assist management in making recommendations to overall loan objectives, policies, and procedures, and provide advice and guidance to others engaged in loan activity to ensure that loans are properly processed and that adequate controls are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Receiving and processing all types of loan applications using available programs to enhance or guarantee loans.
  • Collecting and analyzing information regarding the customer's income, assets, investments, or debts to determine the best financial product for their needs.
  • Advising customers on their financial position and providing guidance on loan options.
  • Minimizing past due loans by ensuring safety and soundness through special attention to past due and questionable credits.
  • Visiting prospective clients to develop new business and existing clients to evaluate collateral and develop long-term relationships.
  • Soliciting new customers and representing the bank in community activities.
  • Cross-selling bank products and services and making referrals to other bank personnel.
  • Assisting management with research, development, and implementation of new products or special projects and committees.
  • Traveling to other branch locations to assist in loan officer duties as needed.

Requirements

  • A strong commitment to internal and external customer service.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A 4-year college degree or related work experience.
