Position Overview:
This role involves being part of a team that operates dual production lines. You will collaborate with your shift to safely manufacture high-quality products in a fast-paced, continuous operation environment. As a Production Line Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of quality packaging and products to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  • Adhere to Owens Corning's Safety Standards and fulfill all safety obligations. Safety is a fundamental aspect of employment.
  • Take personal responsibility for working safely and encourage team members to uphold the same high safety standards.
  • Promptly report any accidents, near misses, or workplace injuries to your supervisor, regardless of perceived severity.
  • Engage in safety, quality, autonomous maintenance (AM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and housekeeping initiatives as outlined within the facility.
  • Perform tasks aimed at minimizing environmental impact and comply with environmental regulations and waste disposal protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of equipment and workstations.
  • Communicate safety concerns and equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on winding, EDL, and conveyor systems at designated intervals.
  • Adjust control panel settings as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to provide quality control information.
  • Monitor and report any material issues that deviate from specifications.

Productivity:

  • Understand the product process and operate winders and packaging machinery on both lines.
  • Manage banding equipment and apply pallet labels accurately.
  • Track and report scrap and seconds for operational metrics.
  • Assist in the repair of web breaks and participate in preventive maintenance activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Support the training and development of team members.
  • Adapt to changing priorities as business needs evolve.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and processes diligently.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be willing to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or process-related roles is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in English communication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must remain drug-free and comply with safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 49 lbs. repetitively.
  • Willingness to work flexible rotating shifts and mandatory overtime as needed.
