Responsibilities:


The primary objective is to meet customer demands for quality, quantity, and timely delivery in a safe manner while maximizing productivity.

Specifically, the Logistics and Inventory Control Specialist is accountable for all job functions necessary to support production operations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assisting with various warehouse tasks, including shipping and receiving, constructing pallets/crates, and packaging materials for shipment; overseeing and maintaining inventory; preparing work by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting).


Additional responsibilities:
Maintain supply inventory by checking stock levels; anticipating required supplies; placing and expediting orders for materials; verifying receipt of supplies

Package, secure, and load products

Track and prepare documentation for products while monitoring database activity for inventory

Effectively communicate with vendors as necessary, both verbally and in writing.

Keep dock and storage areas organized; receive, unpack, and distribute goods; restock items as needed; label shelves

Maintain all necessary documentation to support shipping and inventory operations

Adhere to all plant safety protocols; follow practices and procedures. Remain aware of surroundings and maintain a clean and safe workspace

Properly utilize personal protective equipment when required

Position parts and subassemblies using templates or by interpreting measurements

Support all departments with inventory requirements

Perform other assigned tasks as needed

Qualifications:
Prior experience in manufacturing is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training related to the skills listed below is also desirable.

Knowledge of blueprint reading is preferred

Basic computer skills are required (primarily Microsoft Excel)

Basic measurement and math skills are necessary; familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments is essential

Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes is preferred (in-house training available)

SAP experience is desirable

Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

Team-oriented - must be able to collaborate with others and/or work independently

Must maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed production goals

Detail-oriented, attentive to material defects, quality issues, and inventory levels

Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting throughout the shift

Able to repetitively lift 25-50 lbs.

Must maintain regular attendance – reliable transportation is required

Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee operates in a typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.

Overhead LED lighting throughout the workspace ensures a well-lit environment for employees to safely perform their tasks.

Generally, a clean work environment where the process generates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is conducted as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.

The noise level in the work environment is typical of manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other equipment. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.

Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, with fans provided in each work area to help maintain comfort. In the winter, heating is provided.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Entry-level experience (training may be provided)
