Postdoctoral Fellow - Environmental Nutrient Management
Job Summary:Auburn University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will work on environmental nutrient management, focusing on understanding nutrient mineralization of animal manures and their fate and transport in the environment.
Responsibilities:- Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments on manure mineralization
- Operate analytical instruments such as ICP-AES, Ion chromatography (IC), and UV-VIS, including quality control and quality assurance
- Manage and organize data
- Supervise graduate students and undergraduate student workers
- Disseminate research findings through presentations at field days, workshops, national conferences, and manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journal articles
- Ph.D. in Soil Science, Agronomy, Soil Microbiology, Soil Chemistry, or a closely related field
- Experience with laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, and analyze data using R or SAS
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States
- Experience with manure mineralization studies
- Models such as Hydrus and DayCent
- Wet chemical analytical instruments
- Microbial methods
