Orthopaedic Imaging Specialist

OrthoCincy seeks a skilled Radiologic Technologist to contribute to the delivery of excellent orthopaedic care in a patient-centered environment. As a key member of our team, you will work under limited supervision, exercising independent judgment and initiative while adhering to protocols established by orthopaedic physicians.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, fellow workers, physicians, and others in the clinical environment.
- Provide compassionate support to patients in distress, ensuring their utmost dignity.
- Maintain radiological quality assurance standards and adhere to the Radiologic Technologist scope of practice per federal/state laws.
- Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards of the organization.
- Ensure certifications are current and up to date.
- Transfer patients with ambulatory issues as needed.
- Assist with patient personal hygiene needs as warranted.
- Perform clerical duties, including paperwork, orders, and clinical documentation.
- Protect patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
- Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment.
- Maintain radiographic supplies and order as necessary.
- Remain focused on patient interaction while maintaining a high volume of studies.
- Maintain licenses and certificates as deemed necessary by governing state bodies.
- Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state.
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Radiological Technology from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
- Knowledge of the Companies Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Knowledge of radiology procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform radiology testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology.
- Knowledge of body mechanics.
- Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems.
- Skill in positioning patients properly.
- Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
- Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong follow-through discipline.
- Strong skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Strong communication skills in a professional manner during stressful and sensitive situations with patients of all ages.
This role requires working in a radiological unit, with a high level of physical activity, including standing and walking 90% of the time. Ability to lift 50 pounds and use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
