Position Overview

The Clinical Practice/Nurse Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing practice and excellence within the nursing field, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to elevate patient outcomes and care systems. This role enhances practice and patient results throughout the care continuum by implementing evidence-based practices, providing consultation, conducting research, delivering education, and establishing organizational standards.

The Clinical Practice/Nurse Specialist supports Clinical Research and Precision Medicine Novel Therapeutics through:

  • Evaluation of incoming protocols and novel therapeutic intakes along with planned interventions: Reviewing incoming and amended clinical trials at the institution with planned interventions (approximately 100 annually) related to novel therapeutics.
  • Management of High-Risk Therapeutics (both under research studies and post-research FDA approval); Coordination of Care Delivery.
  • Promotion of a Culture of Excellence in Research and Precision Medicine within the institution.
