Job Title: Behavioral Health Consultant

About the Role:

As a Behavioral Health Consultant at Operation PAR Inc., you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment services to individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to perform substance abuse and mental health outreach to parents who have Child Welfare involvement, engage substance using parents in support groups, screen, provide brief intervention and referral. You will establish relationships with Child Protection Investigators, Child Welfare Case Managers, Court systems, and community partners to remove barriers to services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screening and assessment of clients to determine appropriate level of care
  • Providing brief interventions using principles of Motivational Interviewing to motivate and ensure compliance to screening recommendations
  • Establishing collaborative, integrated relationships with Child Welfare staff and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) Medical staff to assure effective service coordination
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans incorporating knowledge of accepted principles of client record management and confidentiality
  • Documenting client records accurately, timely, and concisely in accordance with company standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a directly related field plus four years of direct client service experience in mental health or substance abuse
  • Master's degree in counseling or a directly related field with two years of direct client service experience in mental health or substance abuse, licensed or pursuing licensure preferred
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification if client contact is part of job
  • Must pass background and fingerprinting checks
  • Must follow current required training requirements of Operation PAR

Working Environment:

As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will work in a treatment program environment, which may involve exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior, as well as possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases. You will also be required to establish relationships with community partners and participate in interdisciplinary approaches to treatment planning and delivery of treatment services.
