Job Title: Transportation Fleet General Manager

Hobby Lobby is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Fleet General Manager to oversee the entire fleet operation and provide exceptional customer service to our retail stores.

About the Role:

The Transportation Fleet General Manager will be responsible for implementing and supporting policies and practices that align with the company's philosophy. This includes evaluating processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement, developing and implementing strategies to optimize capacities and reduce operational costs.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Local, State, and Federal Regulatory agencies safety and compliance standards and best practices. They will model a culture of safety by leading by example and proactively identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Improve operational excellence by building strong relationships with internal and external staff
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain employees
  • Provide open, honest, and timely feedback on employee performance
  • Implement and support policies and practices that align with the company's philosophy
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize capacities and reduce operational costs
  • Manage daily routes and overcome unexpected obstacles and barriers
  • Manage third-party carriers to ensure quality measures are met
  • Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors
Requirements:
  • 8 years of fleet management experience
  • High school or GED required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, Hazmat, and OSHA regulations
