Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly motivated and experienced Graduate Career Advisor to join our team in the Katz Graduate School of Business Career Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting full and part-time MBA and/or specialized master's degree students, as well as alumni, in developing and refining a comprehensive strategy for securing an internship and/or full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide career advice to assigned students, assisting them in developing an academic and job search plan, including company lists and networking.
  • Collaborate with academic advisors to ensure alignment of student academic and career goals.
  • Review and revise resumes and personal brand statements to ensure they are tailored to the job market.
  • Assist students with employer engagement and achievement of placement goals, as well as job offer negotiations.
  • Provide information and resources specific to international students' career development needs.
  • Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback to students.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to less experienced advisors.
  • Source career outcome data from current and recently graduated students to support internal and external reporting needs.
Professional Development

As a Graduate Career Advisor, you will also be responsible for supporting the creation and delivery of professional development content and orientation, conducting research on trends, and generating ideas for new programming.

Requirements
  • Masters degree required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, with a focus on student advising.
  • Three years of experience in student advising.
