Job Summary:

This is a non-exempt part-time and full-time position responsible for helping patients improve their ability to perform tasks in daily living and work environments. You will assess patients and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians.
  • Assist patients to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction, restore function, and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb.
  • Assist patients with exercises that increase strength and dexterity.
  • Follow medical practice policies related to compliance, safety, and infection control.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
  • Master's degree in the field (new requirement as of CHT Certification preferred).
  • Minimum two years of experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Current state occupational therapist license.
  • Successful completion of national certification examination.
  • Current state CHT designation and maintenance of certification required.
  • Current CPR certificate.

Work Environment:

Our clinics are located in McKinney and Prosper, Texas. You will work in an orthopedic outpatient/hand therapy setting with a variety of therapeutic equipment, including orthotics and aids for activities of daily living.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

This position requires extensive physical activities, including standing, stooping, lifting, bending, and twisting. You must be able to transport/transfer patients safely and occasionally lift/carry and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
