Job Summary
The Core Laboratory Pathology Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the laboratory, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role requires effective management of supervisory personnel, technical personnel, and customer service personnel. The manager will be responsible for the financial management of expenses and labor, quality assurance/CQI, regulatory affairs, training, and education of staff. Additionally, the manager will be instrumental in identifying laboratory instrument platforms for use throughout the WakeMed system and will provide technical and operational support for other facilities performing testing in the disciplines associated with the Core Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Manage the laboratory operations, including supervisory personnel, technical personnel, and customer service personnel.
- Oversee the financial management of expenses and labor.
- Ensure quality assurance/CQI and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff.
- Identify laboratory instrument platforms for use throughout the WakeMed system.
- Provide technical and operational support for other facilities performing testing in the disciplines associated with the Core Laboratory.
Requirements
- 4 years of management experience in a direct area of responsibility.
- 5 years of clinical experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Bachelor's degree in a life science required.
- Master's degree in business administration preferred.
