Job Overview

American Humane seeks a seasoned IT Director to oversee daily operations and drive strategic technology initiatives. This hybrid role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and collaborates with staff to understand user needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity program.
  • Manage IT systems, including network infrastructure, cloud computing, and software development.
  • Lead the Service Desk System Administrator and Applications Project Manager in their respective roles.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve IT support issues and manage vendor relationships.
  • Monitor IT systems and services for availability and proper operation.
  • Assist with creating, implementing, and enforcing endpoint, network, and application security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor IT compliance requirements related to HIPAA, PCI, and other standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, with a focus on network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, or IT operations.
  • Experience managing direct reports in an IT function is highly desirable.
  • Firm grasp of IT concepts and principles, including desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network components and infrastructure, VOIP technology and services, and network and infrastructure security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain IT technology and concepts in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Self-disciplined, action-oriented style with a strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
