Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Representative to join our team at the Employment Development Department. As a Tax Compliance Representative, you will play a critical role in resolving delinquent tax liabilities and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve delinquent tax liabilities and/or delinquent tax returns using judgment and knowledge of statutes, regulations, and compliance procedures.
  • Communicate with employers and their representatives via telephone, written correspondence, or field calls to resolve case assignments.
  • Utilize automated systems and collection tools, such as 1733/1735 investigations, to resolve cases.
  • Work closely with the Tax Administrator I to ensure compliance with tax regulations and resolve complex compliance assignments.
Working Conditions

This position is headquartered in Anaheim and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Requirements
  • Basic skills in the use of a personal computer or laptop with Microsoft Software applications (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve complex compliance assignments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employers and their representatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
