About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Field Application Engineer to join our team at X Shore. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to customers and colleagues remotely, as well as conducting training sessions for our partners to enhance their product knowledge.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting customers remotely through immediate assistance and guidance
  • Active problem-solving and troubleshooting technical issues with customers' boats in the field
  • Conducting training sessions for our partners to enhance their product knowledge
  • Identifying root causes of failures and issues
  • Documenting clear work instructions for remedial actions
  • Participating in prototype development and testing
  • Performing sea trials out of Sarasota Florida according to the QA checklist

You will be a full-time member of our Field Service team and will work from our technical office in Sarasota Florida. We're a startup, so you'll be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability.

We're looking for someone with a broad technical knowledge spanning areas such as mechanics, electronics, diagnostics, and software. You should be able to fluently communicate in English to interact with a global customer base and team. You should also be flexible and willing to travel with short notice, ensuring that customer issues are resolved promptly.

We prefer that you have experience of CAN/NMEA2000 network and CAN software, reading electrical systems, wiring diagram schematics and component datasheets, software functionality connected to hardware pinout, over-the-air telemetry diagnostics and software updates, and both reading and writing C and Python code.
