Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance for benefit premium reconciliation, invoicing, and other related accounting tasks.
  • Work closely with HR, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across the organization in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain precise records of payroll transactions and month-end accruals.
  • Oversee timely garnishment processing in coordination with HRIS vendors and relevant creditors.
  • Assist with the administration of worker's compensation, including coding, notifications, invoice reconciliation, and auditing as necessary.
  • Support ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.
  • Reconcile estimated 401k matching and PTO accrual liabilities.
  • Assist with relevant benefits, worker's compensation, payroll, and tax filings as needed.
  • Support federal, state, and local wage verification requests as necessary.
  • Uphold high standards of professional conduct and teamwork.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with payroll processing software and familiarity with payroll taxes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with employees regarding payroll matters.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and accounting software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and tax laws.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations, along with other relevant federal, state, and local laws governing compensation.
  • Experience with 401K and/or Worker's Compensation audits is a plus.

Physical Requirements: This role involves working in an office environment, sitting at a desk for extended periods, and using a computer for communication. Occasionally, the position may require walking, standing, driving, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The physical demands outlined are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers for operating a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Frequent phone use, typing, and participation in virtual meetings.
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen.
  • The work environment is typically quiet.
