Job Summary

As a Recovery Technician with E3 OMI, you will play a critical role in identifying, removing, and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This position requires specialized training and certification in hazardous materials handling, as well as the ability to operate earth moving equipment and trucks.


Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate hand and power tools, heavy machinery, and equipment to remove, package, store, or transport waste materials.
• Record numbers of containers stored at disposal sites, specifying amounts or types of equipment or waste disposed.
• Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures and equipment while carrying out tasks and work orders.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures to ensure safety and quality work product.
• Decontaminate equipment or sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances safely.
• Prepare and maintain work records/reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily field tickets, or inspection results.


Requirements

• HAZWOPER certification preferred
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required
• Understanding of business principles and practices
• Knowledge of materials, methods, equipment & tools involved in remediation services
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Problem solving and analytical skills


Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. The employee will be exposed to extreme seasonal temperatures, contaminants, hazardous conditions, and hazardous equipment.


Travel

Travel is expected for this position, primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected.
