Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced respiratory care in critical and emergency settings. Your expertise in airway management, ventilation support, and medication administration will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced respiratory care in critical and emergency settings
  • Assist in intubation and extubation procedures, ensuring secure airway management
  • Provide robust support in patient care involving ARDS, COVID, and fresh tracheostomy recovery
  • Administer various respiratory medications with precision and appropriate dose adjustments
  • Set up and manage aerosol delivery systems and ventilation support devices
  • Troubleshoot alarms and ensure proper ventilation parameters are maintained
  • Interpret arterial blood gases efficiently and conduct chest physiotherapy as needed
Requirements:
  • Valid State License Required
  • RRT, BLS, ACLS Certifications
  • Minimum 2 Years Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Transports
  • Proficiency in Endotracheal Tube/Suctioning, Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal and Oral Airway Placement, Oropharyngeal Suctioning
  • Ability to Care for Patients with ARDS, COVID, Fresh Tracheostomy, and Pneumonia
  • Familiarity with Medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex
