Position Title: Special Education Teacher (K-2)

Caseload: Elementary Level

Compensation: $25-35+ based on qualifications and experience

Overview:

Soliant is in search of a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to deliver tailored educational experiences for students with disabilities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Building Principal and the Director of Special Education to create and execute Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) for your assigned students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based specialized instruction to meet the goals outlined in each student's IEP.
  • Evaluate student progress and identify the need for further support or modifications to teaching strategies.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to help students achieve their IEP objectives.
  • Design and implement annual IEP plans for each student.
  • Coordinate the provision of special education services as specified in each student's IEP.
  • Foster a positive learning environment with a focus on individualized instruction.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
  • Act as the primary liaison for parents regarding student progress.
  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations for special education services.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to educational assistants as needed.
  • Adhere to all School Board policies and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Complete all necessary district and state reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess the 461 endorsement for Tennessee.
  • Education and experience as mandated by state certification authorities.
  • Ability to manage stress associated with responsibilities that require constant focus and interaction with students.
  • Physical demands are limited to classroom activities involving lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds.

Working Environment:

  • Responsibilities are conducted in a classroom setting with minimal exposure to environmental factors.
  • Occasional local travel may be necessary; overnight travel is not required.
  • The role involves the use of standard office equipment.
