About the Role:

The Registered Nurse Resident will provide professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in oncology nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Maintains work environment.
  • Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste and any other material potentially infected with a blood borne pathogen.
  • Facilitates clinical operations and patient care. Facilitates and schedules consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Inter professional collaboration.
  • Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Completed graduation from an accredited program for professional nursing education within three years prior to January 2025; BSN preferred.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac and Life Support) certification required.
  • RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state is required by end of residency program in order to be hired on into a permanent position.
  • Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.
