Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, working closely with customers and colleagues to deliver exceptional service and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, perform general labor tasks efficiently and effectively, including developing and maintaining knowledge of commodities handled at the location and adhering to company policies and government regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, working with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may involve sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
- Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment, including bulk and packaged materials.
- Control and monitor all load-out functions.
- Operate automated scale/dump systems and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
- Inspect in-use equipment for leaks and seeps of process equipment and maintain quality of inventory (may include blended, bulk, or packaged product).
- Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, orderly, and safe, conducting regular housekeeping duties like sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping, and cleaning up spills.
- Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
- Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, identifying and communicating workplace hazards, and correcting or seeking assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Meet minimum age requirement.
- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobiles.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Agriculture experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
As an Operations Specialist, you can expect a competitive total rewards package, including a base wage and potential bonus, incentives, and commissions, depending on the position. The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on factors like experience, education, training, specialized skills, and certifications.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, life insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, paid time off, 401(k), pension, profit sharing, short- and long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, and adoption assistance, subject to eligibility requirements.
