Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to the doctor as needed, ensuring seamless patient care and support.
  • Gather and prepare pathology and lab samples, maintaining accurate records and adhering to strict protocols.
  • Help clients prepare for examinations, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment.
  • Take notes of all doctor-to-patient instructions, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Provide responses to all patient inquiries, addressing their concerns and needs promptly.
  • Document (scribe) all provider/patient meetings, entering information into our electronic medical records system.
  • Assist physician during patient procedures and surgeries, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Collect and prepare path/lab specimens, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Assist patients in preparing for exam, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Document medical instructions given to patients, educating them on their treatment plans and next steps.
  • Answer patient questions in person, via email, and on the phone, providing clear and concise information.
  • Scribe during patient visit with provider, using our electronic medical records system to enter medical histories and prescriptions.
Requirements:
  • MA program graduate, with a strong foundation in medical assisting principles and practices.
  • Current First Aid/Basic Life Support certificates, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong academic record and a passion for healthcare.
  • 1+ year(s) as an MA in a healthcare setting, with experience in patient care and support.
  • Allscripts EMR knowledge, with a strong understanding of electronic medical records systems.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program, with a strong foundation in medical assisting principles and practices.
  • Up-to-date first aid and BLS certification, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • H.S. graduate, or GED, with a strong academic record and a passion for healthcare.
  • Prefer at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant in a doctor's office, with experience in patient care and support.
  • Experience with Allscripts EMR, with a strong understanding of electronic medical records systems.
