Job Summary:

The Yale New Haven Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Professional Nurse to join our team. As an integral member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will uphold the YNHHS mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives to provide the highest level of patient-centered care.

The RN will practice professional nursing as a registered nurse within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model.

The RN will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, communicating and working collaboratively with healthcare teams, and respecting patients' values, preferences, and expressed needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' health or situations to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues.
  • Develop and modify plans of care to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement plans of care and coordinate care delivery and transitions.
  • Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure and registration as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
  • BSN preferred.
  • BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.

Working Conditions:

The RN will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring prolonged standing, walking, and use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases and physical, mental, and emotional illness.
