Emergency Dispatch Supervisor

Archuleta County is seeking an experienced Emergency Dispatch Supervisor to oversee the efficient management of emergency communications. This pivotal role involves directing the dispatch of emergency service requests, ensuring the safety of the community through effective leadership and training of dispatch personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Coordinate the dispatch of public safety, fire, and medical emergency services
  • Execute leadworker responsibilities, including various administrative functions
  • Support the recruitment and training of new dispatch staff
  • Contribute to the hiring and performance assessment processes
  • Manage emergency, non-emergency, and informational communications
  • Track the status and locations of emergency response units
  • Input, update, and retrieve data from dispatch systems
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of files and logs
  • Engage with command staff from user agencies

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education - Completion of high school or equivalent
  • Experience - Minimum of two years in a Communications Dispatcher role
  • Licenses and Certifications - CCIC/NCIC operator certification, CPR certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification, and completion of APCO CTO or Supervisory Course or equivalent
