Job Summary

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall condition and maintenance of the golf course operation to ensure quality-playing conditions. This includes turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications and related recordings, regulatory compliance, personnel management, financial management, and guest relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations, including cost control and personnel management.
  • Develop and implement a detailed annual agronomic plan for the golf course.
  • Supervise and participate in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets and plans for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage and control all maintenance expenses associated with golf course operations, including payroll, supplies, chemicals, and fertilizers.
  • Collaborate with the golf professional staff on issues related to golf course maintenance.
  • Work closely with the Director of Golf to operate the golf course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner.
  • Enforce all company rules, regulations, and policies for staff.
  • Work independently and analytically.
