Nature of Instructional Duties:

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction in credited technical/occupational courses, develop program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives, and evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. The individual will also request and maintain supplies and equipment, prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports, and attend professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Additionally, the candidate will ensure safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area, meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues, and assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Teaching Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach Associate Degree Nursing courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. The individual will provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of Associate Degree Nursing, establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current Georgia Nursing License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical-Surgical teaching experience in Associate Degree Nursing
  • Experience in using Kaplan/ATI for student assessment
  • Certification in Nursing Education
