At Synectics Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Specimen Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Specimen Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Specimen Processing: You will be responsible for processing and preparing specimens for laboratory testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and imaging/microfilming.
- Quality Control: You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our laboratory testing, including verifying specimen labels, checking for contamination, and maintaining accurate records.
- Communication: You will work closely with laboratory staff, including medical technologists and laboratory managers, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of specimen processing and testing.
- Adaptability: You will be required to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, including handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Teamwork: You will work collaboratively with other laboratory staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous laboratory experience preferred, including experience with laboratory testing and specimen processing.
- Skills: Basic understanding of computers, medical terminology, and laboratory testing procedures.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, lift, and move specimens for extended periods, as well as sit or stand for long periods.
- Work Environment: Work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits and adhering to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
