Job Title: On Call- Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in empowering our residents to reach their full potential and live a Life Without Limits.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as an On Call Direct Support Professional. In this role, you will provide training and care to residents with multiple disabilities, including all areas of daily life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage residents in activities of choice, reinforcing their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Provide transportation and supervision for residents as dictated by their individual programs.
  • Ensure accurate recording of daily activities, problems, and needs of residents in the daily log.
  • Meet each resident's personal hygiene and grooming needs.
  • Use proper body mechanics to lift, move, and position residents, and provide prescribed exercises and physical care.
  • Inspect the home at the beginning of each shift to ensure it meets all safety requirements, checking for clutter and hazardous objects.
  • Conduct evacuation drills, both fire and severe weather, as directed by the supervisor.
  • Follow program plans for meeting all potential emergencies and disasters, such as medical, fire, severe weather, and missing persons.
  • Clean and sanitize all appliances, utensils, and work surfaces in accordance with Personal Care Home Rules and Regulations guidelines.
  • Cook and prepare meals.
  • Report any problems with equipment used by residents to the supervisor.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchen, and telephones daily in accordance with Personal Care Home guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations applying to Personal Care Home and UCP Residential Services.
  • Comply with policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality requirements are upheld.
  • Support and protect the fundamental human, civil, constitutional, and statutory rights of clients and families as defined by the agency.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a care-giving role preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
