Job Summary

4M Research, Inc. is seeking a skilled Cloud Computing Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be part of a software engineering team that develops and maintains software systems supporting the Army's ammunition lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and implement application and data migration from AWS IaaS environment to AWS PaaS environment.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS services.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and other teams to ensure seamless integration and operation.
  • Support the migration of applications to the cloud.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes and take advantage of new technologies.

Requirements:

  • Up to two years of experience in software engineering, 1+ years of experience in cloud computing/engineering/migration.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Understanding of the Linux OS.
  • Programming skills in ASP.NET, C#, and Oracle.
  • Networking and Internet Protocols.
  • DevOps and Containerization.
  • Understanding of Virtualization.
  • Cloud Service Providers.
  • Web Services and API.

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience upgrading ASP.NET web applications written in C# to PaaS environments.
  • Experience working with microservices and containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services technologies.
  • Experience with command-line interfaces in Linux or Unix.
  • Experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex cloud applications.
