Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Transport

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Pediatric Transport team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and transportation services to critically ill or injured infants and children.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients during interfacility transports, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the transport team to ensure safe and efficient transportation of patients, including coordination with referring and receiving facilities.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in respiratory care and transport medicine.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care delivered by the transport team.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with a focus on pediatric transport.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
